Discovering paths
Through which to stretch
Jutting to the sky
Drawn to the heat and life of light
Even when the trials of fire
Sinks its singeing tips
In the skin of gas,
What isn’t offered to the ground
Strives to touch
The hand reached down by the sun.
Ceasing not until
Its journey dies
Whence it returns
What’s been taken
For growth, once possessed.
Now offered to another
In seek of the same hands
Spread throughout the sky.

When poisoned arrows pierce they hide.
